Election 2004 has shown a frightening movement in USA.51% of the country's voters are morons! 49% MAY have some brains. The non-voters percentages are an unknown factor.Now I am not talking your average uninformed moron but rather a certain type of distorted "christian",a type which is in the ascendency now not only in government but in the business sector as well which makes them even more dangerous. They have power. They have money which is always power. Once a small sect called fundamentalists,usually withdrawn from world affairs in pursuit of their spiritual affairs,they are now outfront with their twisted,literalist interpretation of the old English Bible with its outdated thoughts and vocabulary despite the fact that is was a jewel of "modern biblical scholarship" of its time and remains a magnificent rendering of the English language of that era. That does not alter the fact that its words and phrases do not always mean what they seem to mean in modern English,not our language nor our concepts. But these fanatics have latched onto it and are now succeeding in playing hell with our American way of life,attempting to transform it from a pluralistic society to a narrow,neo-puritan enviornment intolerable to all who think for themselves and who are well-educated in biblical studies,liberal arts,politics and sciences. What/Who are these ignorami? Psychologically they are fearful,anal-retentive persons. They fear change,any sort of evolution be it scientific or sociological. They are decidely lacking in any sort or true spirituality since that cannot operate in the atmosphere of fear.They are unloving because they are incapable of love due to their warp.They are vicious in that they perceive all dissent as coming from Satan.They are closed-minded in that they refuse to learn anything about biblical or scientific research's findings. Their minds are made up-Do Not confuse them with reality.Most people know the primary denominational makeup of these people;Assemblies of God,Baptists,various pentecostals,EV Free,even some Methodists and Presbytereans. Add to that now many Roman Catholics and some Orthodox.However some of the most dangerous are freewheelers. They are not submitted to a pastor now part of a flock.They can be the most dangerous rogues of all.Their main ambition is to turn the USA into a bizarre theocracy of their own making-facism under christian trappings.Theocracy has never worked,not in the Byzantine Empire nor the Ottoman nor the Roman version of the Middle Ages. It will always fail but it puts people through hell during its age of success. We Americans must thwart this at every turn. Extreme measures may be neccesary;revolution,public protest,boycotting-anything to impede their progress.Civil disobedience MAY work but I have never seen it effective except in India. Actually it was not Ghandi who collapsed the Raj. India had driven the Brits bankrupt and it imploded.Ghandi merely got the credit. Something MUST be done before our life under the Constitution is destroyed. Start out by getting contact info on all your state/federal reps. Put them in a directory,stay informed and protest all their manuvers. Remember,the Executive Branch is "lameduck". They will not care how extreme they get because they have no re-election worries. But Congressmen do! Target them with protests.All of you have an enormous platform on the web. Start protest yahoo groups,blogs,diaries etc.Make yourself known and heard.
